Peekaboo Ibiza founder Suzanne Griep moved to Ibiza in 2012 with her husband Robbie. With a background in real estate services, she has a deep knowledge of the island and what it´s like to be a parent here. She started Peekaboo Ibiza from her kitchen table after years of juggling travel with the needs of children.

Where are you from and how did you end up in Ibiza?

I’m from Holland originally. I moved to Ibiza in 2012 with my husband Robbie, who grew up on the island. We met in China where we were both working in the corporate world and decided to move to Ibiza to join the family real estate business.

What lead you to the creation of Peekaboo Ibiza?

There were a few different things that inspired me to start the company. My children are getting through the toddler stage and I felt it was a good time for me to put some of my focus elsewhere. Robbie and I travelled a lot but with kids, everything changed. I think travelling and taking time out with your family is essential but I also know how hard it can be to get around with kids. They seem to need a lot of stuff! I want to help families enjoy their holidays without all the extra luggage and stress.

What has been your own experience travelling with kids?

If you travel by plane you have all the luggage limitations. With prams, travel cots, toys – it all adds up. Then you arrive and you are stuck in your hotel or villa without the things you need to create a relaxed atmosphere. One year Robbie and I decided to go on a holiday with the car instead and it just turned into a pit of equipment and toys and bits and bobs. Then a while ago a friend came to Ibiza with her twins. They rented a lovely villa but had to push two sofas together to make an area where the babies were safe. I just thought this is no fun for them, there has to be a better way.

What does Peekaboo Ibiza provide?

We have a selection of top quality baby and toddler equipment for rent. It’s very simple to use. Clients choose their items or packages online and we deliver and pick up. It means families can come on holiday without dragging all their gear from home. The kids are entertained and safe and the parents can actually relax. I wish I’d had something like this when my kids were younger!

What is your favourite family-friendly activity to do in Ibiza?
